CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

If for any reason you choose to discontinue your studies, Viridis Graduate Institute has established this cancellation and refund policy for your protection.

STUDENT’S RIGHT TO CANCEL

Institutions shall refund 100 percent of the amount paid for institutional charges, less a reasonable deposit or application fee not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250), if notice of cancellation is made through attendance at the first class session, or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later.

This refund does not include any course material (eBooks, etc.). Cancellation of Enrollment by the student can be conveyed to the Institution by email, mail, and telephone.

Viridis Graduate Institute Right to Cancel

Prior to the Scheduled Start Date, Viridis Graduate Institute may terminate this agreement if the student has failed to meet pre-enrollment and admissions requirements, including, but not limited to, paying required enrollment fee, submission of all previous college transcripts, proof of completion of relevant diplomas or degrees, or making arrangements for tuition payment, and any specific pre- enrollment requirements that apply to the above program. Failure to complete the above will constitute grounds for an automatic termination of this agreement if not corrected within 30 days of the Scheduled Start Date unless extended by VGI.

After the Scheduled Start Date, Viridis Graduate Institute may terminate this agreement if the student still has not met any of the pre-enrollment or admission requirements specified above. In accordance with policies defined in the Student Handbook and Institute Catalog, Viridis Graduate Institute may also terminate the agreement if the student fails to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress, or if the student violates VGI’s policies for academic authenticity or its code of conduct for student behavior. Viridis Graduate Institute may also administratively withdraw a student, resulting in the automatic termination of this agreement, if VGI determines that the student is no longer enrolled based on a variety of reasons such as a lack of academic activity, failure to establish academic verification at the beginning of a new term, or failure to pay tuition.

The applicant may cancel this enrollment contract and receive a full refund of monies paid to date if notice of cancellation is made through attendance at the first class session, or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later. The cancellation ca be made in any manner as stated above.

Refund Policy

Students who are considering withdrawing from Viridis Graduate Institute should weigh the decision carefully. The Academic Dean and the President are available to speak with any student and should be consulted before making a final decision. Viridis Graduate Institute does not participate in government funding programs. By law, a student that has received federal financial aid funds is entitled to a refund of monies not paid from federal student financial aid program funds.

At the time of withdrawal, adjustments are made to tuition and fees, which may result in additional amounts due. Once financial adjustments are made, the Office of the Registrar will determine adjustments to tuition and fees and an estimate of any refund or amount due can be provided. If a refund is due, payment will be made within 10 days. Any balance owing is due within ten (10) days of withdrawal.

Viridis Graduate Institute does not participate in government funding programs. By law, a student that has received federal financial aid funds is entitled to a refund of monies not paid from federal student financial aid program funds. By law, if the student obtains a loan to pay for an educational program, the student will have the responsibility to repay the full amount of the loan plus interest, less the amount of any refund.  If the student defaults on a federal or state loan, both the following may occur:

  1. The federal or state government or a loan guarantee agency may take action against the student, including applying any income tax refund to which the person is entitled to reduce the balance owed on the loan.
  2. The student may not be eligible for any other federal student financial aid at another institution or other government financial assistance until the loan is repaid. CEC §94911(g)(1)(2).

ReWilding
 Refund Policy 

If for any reason the student must cancel their participation in the required ReWilding, and the $500 ReWilding fee has been paid, a refund of the fee is issued to the student minus any lodging cancellation costs the Institute incurs due to student cancellation. Refund is sent to the student within 10 days of the cancellation notice.

Tuition Refund Appeal

In the case of exceptional circumstances, students may make a tuition refund appeal by submitting a written explanation of the circumstances that warrants an exception to the published refund policy. Exceptional circumstances might include incapacitating illness or injury or unanticipated military service. Supporting documentation to verify the circumstance is required. All appeals should be sent to the Office the Registrar at vgi.registrar@viridisedu.org.
